Project Puppies

About the Project
We are a dedicated team from the University of Ljubljana, consisting of three enthusiastic students—Žan, Marko, and Sebastijan—and our mentor Erik. Our mission is to advance the research on dog re-identification from videos, an area that currently has limited exploration. By collecting and publishing a publicly accessible video dataset featuring dogs, we aim to provide valuable resources to researchers and technology developers. This initiative can significantly enhance the ability to identify dogs accurately, opening doors for innovations in pet recovery, enhanced pet safety, and smarter technologies involving canine recognition.
Why Your Contribution Matters
Dog re-identification technology holds tremendous potential for reuniting lost dogs with their families, improving safety measures for pets, and contributing to groundbreaking research. However, such technology relies heavily on extensive and diverse video data, which is currently insufficient. By contributing your dog videos, you directly support the advancement of this crucial research. Every single contribution brings us one step closer to making a difference in the lives of countless dogs and their owners.

Here is how Rex is contributing
An example of a dog videos that you can contribute. This is Rex, a friendly and energetic dog who loves to play fetch. By sharing videos like this one, you can help us build a comprehensive dataset that will drive the development of innovative dog re-identification technologies. Your contribution matters, so do not hesitate to participate in our project and make a difference in the world of dog-related research and technology.
